Chinese medicine is holistic.

And the intake reflects that.

Practitioners in the U.S. are taught to allocate 90 minutes to a combined initial intake and first treatment. But I’ve found for complicated cases, that doesn’t leave enough time to get to the root cause. That often means a subpar initial treatment that may or may not work leading to extra appointments.

By separating the intake from the treatment, as a practitioner I have uninterrupted space to listen, connect the dots, and start untangling what can feel impossible.

This approach has lead to better patient outcomes and the need for fewer treatments.

Simple acute pain ailments for generally healthy folx searching for balance - the 30 minute intake is often enough. Complex health issues where we review bloodwork or deep dive into auto-immune, fertility, menopause, chronic pain, or mystery diagnosis, you will need to book the full 60 minutes.
